Filipino families have always loved dining together. I remember back in the day; my family would not start eating until everybody’s already home. Although we are not a particularly large family, I believe this practice is present in almost every Pinoy household. We enjoy talking about what happened in each other’s day, while eating our favorite dishes that are either prepared by the resident chef, grandma, or mom.
It may not look like it, but I really am fond of food. On regular days at work, I eat an average of about two cups of rice, per meal, simply because – I can! Haha I believe that one cannot be both hungry and tired at the same. I mean, we need food! Food is fuel! We need to think, especially when you have a job that requires you to talk for 8 hours daily, not to mention in front of an audience!
You could imagine my joy when I found it most opportune to visit the up and coming buffet restaurant at the heart of San Juan City, that is 7 Flavors Buffet and A la Carte!
Nestled in the streets amidst commercial and residential establishments, this sprightly fusion of a café, buffet and bakery sits magnificently, offering its customers treats that will surely satisfy their gastronomic cravings. Here are 7 reasons on why you should visit them today!
-
World-renowned Chef Boy Logro
I believe this first reason is enough already! Chef Boy Logro, is a Filipino celebrity chef known for his cooking shows, Idol sa Kusina and Chef Boy Logro: Kusina Master. He has been commended in his talent and skill in creating mouth-watering recipes. He also received inspiring recognitions both local and abroad. It is very satiating to know that he has pioneered a restaurant that will bring us joy and appease our churning stomachs, empty enough to eat as much as we want! It’s a buffet after all!
-
Generous Parking Area
I don’t drive, but I believe this is such a cherry, because this means more foodies can be accommodated by the restaurant. It is really a downer whenever good food places lack basic car space. I’m sure my dad would love to go here soon, since unstinting parking is such a big plus.
-
Café + Buffet + Bakery in One!
What could go wrong? If this was a department store, this could be SM! I mean they got it all for you! Whatever your mood or cravings might be, 7 Flavors sure has something in store for you. It’s like a one-stop-shop for everyone who may want to eat! Or those who may be forced mid-inquiry! 😀

Architecture and Design
Now this is a big bomb. Working in real estate for quite some time has allowed me to be more discerning and meticulous when it comes to aesthetics, exterior features, proper lighting, color, space, establishment orientation, furniture choice, interior design details, mood, etc. And quite frankly I’m impressed!
The outdoor façade already gave the idea that the ambiance of the place is one of its strong points. I specifically adore the lush greenery and its glowing accent in the restaurant’s portico.
It suggested an air that 7 Flavors Buffet and A la Carte is indeed a place where you can celebrate your life’s most treasured moments. Little did I know that my impression was true! You can actually book an event and hold it here!
This collective photo reminded me of old family wall accessories in ancestral houses or museums. Very homey, and stable. The lighting injected an attitude of a more contemporary design though, which I think is an attempt to go in between of the restaurant’s diverse market.

More Space for Events
I was also greeted by posh yet funky interiors inside. The first floor held the A la Carte space for diners. I have learned that this area can also be used for venues for occasions and celebrations.
Upstairs is where the magic begins, well at least for the night we went there. The A la Carte area was deserted that time. Probably because it was a Friday night, and more people are hungrier than usual! Haha Like me!

Distinct Taste of Recipes and Dishes
It is called the 7 Flavors Buffet and A la Carte because it highlights the 7 stunning flavors of – sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy, umami, and astringent. Astringent is that discrete flavor of dryness that you generally taste after tasting tea, wine, or the outer rinds of fruits and treats.
According to modern nutrition practices inspired by Ayurveda (system of medicine that originated in India), the body’s response to proper nutrition is guided by the sense of taste. Brimming that this is true, it’s more than another reason to excessively satisfy our palates with nothing but good taste from good food.
Salmon Head with Oyster Sauce
Vegetable Medley
Alfredo Pasta
Buttered Chicken
Beef Steak Tagalog
Crispy Pork Kare-kare
Seafood Thermidor
What I like about their food is that, it tastes natural and healthy. I’m not sure if there is a way on how taste buds detect that, but I notice that they are not the oily kind. Considering that I am referring to the steak. It was perfectly concocted in my opinion. Not to mention that I was pretty hesitant in trying it because I just had my braces adjusted that week. I was having a difficult time chewing anything other than super soft food, which is basically most viands. But to my great surprise, it was soft and easy to chew. I almost forgot it was beef!
I also liked the taco shells! They were amazingly soft! Kind of perfect for people who have painful tools for mastication like mine!
The flavors just kept bursting inside my mouth. I kind of remembered the blissful feeling the chef rat Remy in the Ratatouille Movie made it seem.

Reasonably Priced Menu
In comparison to existing buffet restaurants, Chef Logro’s 7 Flavors Buffet and A la Carte are reasonably priced. I can say that they are undoubtedly affordable because you get so much from what you pay for. You really are going to get your money’s worth!
My experience was deliciously wonderful! I am definitely coming back! Thank you Aldous for inviting us!
This is going to be an exciting break and a great venue to veer away from your usual buffet dinner outs! Aside from family bonding, I also recommend this for a group of friends’ weekend hangout, or a date maybe! Haha Because that’s what I did! Great food at a price that won’t burn holes in your pockets! If you’re a foodie, you should definitely go! It’s fooDIE for! 😀
