No Guessing in the “Year of the Pig” through Château Royale’s Free “Bazi Reading”

January 2019 started a good year for me, I had my church wedding and had an epiphany that I should push through with this new idea I have in mind. Good and workable it may seem, I still would want to consult the experts given the chance.

I once had a tarot reading, and the Master said it would be easy for me to conceive, something I would otherwise not believe considering the history of my health. But guess what, I got pregnant 6 months later!

So I’m quite excited for the Year of the Pig and what it has in store for me and my little family. Consequently, a resort in Batangas is going to host something similar – Bazi Reading.

yearofpig

In celebration of the coming Chinese New Year, Château Royale Hotel Resort and Spa guests on February 9 will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience they will never forget.

As a special treat to its “Year of the Pig” checked-in guests, Château Royale Hotel Resort and Spa will have a Bazi reading expert who will be ready to accept Bazi reading and consultation.

“Bazi Reading” or “birth profiling” is a statistical tool used to analyze a person’s birth date and time in order to read and understand that person’s assets and liabilities. Among these include health, marriage, career path and other life’s important activities and foresee high-probability events. This reading will help provide individuals a good understanding of who they really are, their potentials for success.

All readings are done scientifically with no amount of superstition whatsoever. The readings’ results are provided in order to help enable people make wiser decisions or do realistic adjustments in their lives that will help shape or affect their future.

fbpagechinesenypromoTo avail of the Bazi consultation, checked-in guests should only register with the Concierge and will be asked to prepare at least 3 specific questions that the Bazi master will answer. For a deeper reading, guests will be asked of their birth date and hour of birth. If no hour of birth is provided, only limited advise on business, children and lovelife will be provided.

The Bazi Reading at Château Royale Hotel Resort and Spa for the Chinese New Year will be offered for only P5,688 to checked-in guests instead of the usual P8,888. This comes with a Bazi chart to be given onsite and sent as well to guests’ email.

In the email, a personality reading will also be included so that clients are guided and they can have a better understanding of themselves. For those with families, it is suggested that they provide the Bazi expert the hour of birth of the spouses and their children so that their questions may be answered better.

“Every Chinese New Year, it is common that you find people seek guidance from the stars, and now with Bazi reading, they can get guidance about life’s future happenings through numbers and done in the most scientific way possible. At Château Royale Hotel Resort and Spa, everyone is family, and what better way to make family bonding better during Chinese New Year than to provide them with a family experience they will truly cherish, just like every time they stay here,” explains Marie Abolencia, Château Royale Hotel Resort and Spa’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

Skin Philosophie by Dr. Kyla Talens

As a millennial Filipina, I suppose you would agree that maintaining good physical image in today’s society is crucial. You have every tool and application at hand that can possibly turn our photos from ordinary to something extra wonderful.

As a blogger, things have changed quite a bit for me. When I was still working, I have this constant notion to keep myself well-groomed at all times to serve as a good example to my trainees. But right now, things had to go up a notch.

For some reason, I never had the time to go to skin clinics, not because I was too busy, but because I thought I was doing okay. I mean, I use a fair number of beauty products, so maybe I was trying enough to take good care of myself, but when I got invited to Skin Philosophie’s event, I realized maybe I should try to consider paying a visit soon.

It’s not really because of vanity, but I guess there can be services that you thought you don’t need but you actually do. For example, eye rejuvenation. I never thought that my simple and random late night activities could cause my eyebags to look really bad.

I am not getting any younger, so investing on my skin and my health should probably be lifted to my top 5 priorities now.

I am so happy that I got to know Skin Philosophie and the brain behind this medical aesthetic and lifestyle solution center.

Dr. Kyla Talens, M.D., DCD, MSc

Dr. Kyla Talens, M.D., DCD, MSc who was celebrating her birthday that day is the CEO and the Chief Aesthetic Dermatologist of Skin Philosophie. Her main interest was aesthetic medicine, specifically skin and laser treatments.

She earned her degree and education from University of the Philippines, Cardiff University in the United Kingdom and Ramathibodi Hospital – Mahidol University, Thailand.

She said that she also incorporates her creative and artistic inclination into her practice. She emphasizes that, “It is of paramount importance for a doctor to have a keen eye for symmetry and proportion so that results look natural after procedures.” And I couldn’t agree more!

I had the best time discovering how Skin Philosophie can help me in my skin problems, which is why I cannot wait to have my own treatment very soon.

Boutique Clinic Concept

The services and facilities are all comfortably placed in a luxurious boutique clinic. I can’t help but admire the casual yet elegant atmosphere. The clinic firmly believes that they want to make their patients feel at ease as they undergo a very positive change in their lives.

Their portfolio of services include, scar repair, age-proofing, age reversing, acne solutions, body contouring with fat reduction, face sculpting, laser treatments, whitening, therapeutic massages, non-surgical procedures, dermal filler injections, face and body art and many more!

Affordable Luxury on Skin Care and Services

The place and location could be a little intimidating, no doubt about that. But the best news is that, while their treatment costs are not exactly that low, they are not abusively high. After all, overly cheap things cannot be trusted.

The smart patients put premium on the value of money. And it is also important to invest in one’s physical image, but there should be enough left for other finer and more significant things in life. After all, we should always spend wisely.

International Beauty Expert is in Manila, Thanks to Clarence!

What an amazing year to be beautiful! 😀

No reason to procrastinate about beauty now, with all the available services in the metro today, and competing prices, we beauty enthusiasts have no excuse to achieve the best skin care we deserve!

I got invited to the PicoWay beauty technology launch in Clarence MD, and got the chance to meet an international beauty expert!

Clarence Anti-Aging, Slimming and Dermatology Centre, the first and only one in the Philippines to have the PicoWay technology, brings international beauty expert Kristi Burns to the Philippines. Burns is a Clinical Application Manager of Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand at Syneron Candela Corporation Australia Pty Ltd. She has extensive background within the beauty, medical and aesthetic skin industries and expertise in skin care and stakeholder relationship development.

Kristi holds an Advance Diploma in Beauty Therapy, a Certificate in Aromatherapy, and a Laser Safety Certificate. In the last 10 years, Kristi specialised on the entire Syneron Candela product range as well as cosmeceutical skin and treatment after care. In her clinical educator role, she works closely with several respected medical physicians and clinic owners both domestically and internationally.

Kristi is currently looking after SyneronCandela customers in Australia and New Zealand. With her excellent understanding of the skin and its behaviour she advises customers on how essential it is to manage the expected results of the different laser procedures performed during various pigmentation disorders, conditions and concerns, acne, vascular irregularities skin resurfacing and tattoo removal treatments.

In 1999, Kristi operated her own Aesthetic Clinic business, and has since worked for several remarkable organizations, where she underwent rigorous training in cosmeceutical active result driven skincare and advanced aesthetic laser, skin resurfacing and IPL procedures. Kristi has been using advanced medical grade technology for over 15 years and became the subject matter expert for Medical Grade Laser’s and IPL devices.

“The coming of Kristi Burns to the Philippines is an honor for Clarence as we both believe that beauty is attainable through state-of-the-art but cost-efficient procedures,” says Dr. Joan Clarence Morallo, head of Clarence MD.

I also happen to score an Underarm PicoWay Treatment! Yay! But to make things more exciting, we had first dibs on witnessing the fast delivery and more effective results of PicoWay Treatment.

One of the bloggers was able to try their PicoWay Tattoo Removal, and the results were astounding!

Freelancing : Freedom While Working + Discount Code on The Freelancer Fair 2017

I have been employed for 6 years and 5 months. For so long, I haven’t known a life that doesn’t involve waking up early, riding the MRT, or taking, and waiting in long lines just to get inside a UV Express.

I could have sworn if not for my mother, I wouldn’t have survived the “petsa de peligro” days, especially during the early months of employment.

via galang 3

via galang 4

I remember being limited because it’s not payday yet, or I haven’t gone to important events because I had to follow a strict schedule.

There are still so many things I could enumerate, but what I cannot entirely include is freedom and more time for my family.

I have been freelancing for some months now, and I am overjoyed. I could work three days in a month, and still, receive the same rate I had when I was employed.

Curious now my love? Read on!

What comes to mind when you think of Freelancing?  Do you see it as merely a sideline job or as what we Filipinos informally call ‘Raket’?  By common definition, Freelancing is when you are self-employed, by offering your skills and services to clients or businesses, without necessarily being bounded to a single employer or a long-term contract. If you haven’t dipped your toes in Freelancing, then perhaps now is the time to consider.

Did you know that according to Upwork, a leading global online jobs platform, the Philippines is the third highest – earning country in the world when it comes to freelancing? In fact, more than 1.4 million Filipinos are registered on the platform alone!

With the sheer power of that number, it only attests to an overwhelming number of individuals who have found their fulfillment and achieved their #Lifegoals in Freelancing. This is not to ignore that like any other profession or job, Freelancing does have its own unique struggles, but if you’re the kind of person who wishes to feel and be more empowered in one or in all aspects of your life, then allow us to sum up what Freelancing can give you: F-R-E-E-D-O-M.

And yes, we do intend to spell it out literally, by giving you our take of what that word means in the world of Freelancing.  So if you’re an aspiring freelancer or entrepreneur, or avoiding a potential bout of “FOMO”, then read on!

  • F – lexibility and Autonomy

We live in the Digital Age, so it should come as no surprise the technologies that can allow us to work anytime and anywhere, and provide services to clients from anywhere in the globe! Say goodbye to long commutes and hello to telecommuting! Also, the nature of Freelancing can give you the flexibility and autonomy to work at your own pace and choose the clients and projects you want to work on.

  • R – ewarding Career

Who says that Freelancing can’t be a career or profession? For many who have gone this route, it has paved way for them to pursue their dream jobs without the constraints of a fixed job description or the frustration of being stuck in a mundane ‘9-5’ office job. As a self-employed professional, you are fully empowered to pursue projects that would nurture your skills and passions.

  • E – ndless possibilities

As a freelancer, there is no limit to the opportunities and possibilities you can pursue, now that you have full control of your career, profession and time. Whereas before, the most part of your day and energy would be spent in long energy-draining meetings and long commutes, Freelancing lets you color and fill each day with activities that you consider truly aligned in attaining your life goals.

  • E – nables you to design your own lifestyle

Are you a night owl who is most productive in the evenings? Dreamed of having your own 4-Hour Work Week? Or what about getting down to finally working on that business plan for your dream start-up? With Freelancing, you can get creative on how you design your typical week, that would specially cater to your unique personality, interests and quirks.

  • D – o things your way

Always had a need to be in full control of your work, surroundings and growth? Then Freelancing will definitely give you that! Being your own boss is one of the great perks of being a Freelancer, and that means getting things AND results done just the way you envisioned it.

  • O – wn your time

Ever wondered how it would be like to respond to emails in your swimwear, with your toes brushing the sand as it points towards a breathtaking view of the beach? Well, in the Freelancing Handbook, you are free to take a vacation in the middle of the week, just as long as you get the job done and your clients happy. Becoming a Freelancer means taking full control of your time and schedule.

  • M – ake room for the people and things that truly matter

And here’s the most important part. Freelancing enables you to spend more time with your family, and other things that truly make life meaningful. With Freelancing, it has paved way for the rise of thousands of hands-on mommies, who find fulfillment in being able to nurture both their families and careers. Whilst for many others, they found it in more time spent in pursuing volunteer work, or in endeavors which define their passions and values.

There you have it. That’s how you spell Freedom with Freelancing!

Wait, there’s more!

How My Shopaholic Tendencies Landed Me in the Shopee Birthday Bash and its Video Collaboration

I have a confession to make. I never thought I’d like this. I was just trying it for a little bit, you know, testing it for a little while. But then, little whiles became days, weeks, months, years – and there was nothing I could do to stop.

Forgive me please, but I am a shopping addict.

IMG_5684

I remember visiting the nearby mall in our university back in college every after school. I used to sneak my shopping goodies inside my bedroom window first, before finally going inside the house’s main door.

I was afraid my Mom will scold me again. But I was terminal. :/ Haha

Too ill to heal. 😀

IMG_20170621_213325

You see, looking back I never really regret shopping much. Wanting nicer things actually pushed me to go pursue a business, so I can afford the things I want.

Little did I know, these “shopaholic tendencies” would pave the way for some opportunities, aside from Versaheel.

Last night, I went to the Shopee’s Birthday Bash!

It was wonderful, and even though it took me forever to arrive because damn, the traffic was treacherous; I was still able to come in one piece.

Ibiza Beach Club was stupendous! I have seen one that’s similar in Cebu, and it is such a genius to have something like that here in Manila!

The place was in an all-white-theme, and that spells the extra class of the venue! We were situated in arc sofas and the little platforms served as pathways. The water in the little pools on the sides made everything more magical!

IMG_20170621_214448

I am really grateful for being part of this year’s Shopee’s anniversary party. Not only did I meet new people, I was also given the chance to participate in its video collaboration with Manila Mash.

(With Drey Uy and Ms Kathy Kenny Ngo of Manila Mash)

We had the shoot in Café Libertad in Amorsolo, Makati. You’ve got to visit them! They have the most flavorful sandwiches in Makati, I tell you!

In here we talked about how convenient shopping became because of this app. I never have to go out just to canvass and buy something. Looking for a product became a lot easier through Shoppee!

You can watch the full video here, as produced by Manila Mash in collaboration with Shoppee!

Screenshot_20170623_023337

It also helps me market Versaheel more. I can say that Shopee’s features come in real handy for entrepreneurs like me, because it allows us to have a medium to sell our products and get searched in the most suitable and convincing way!

Plus, the Shopee Guarantee makes it more genuine and safer, because the app becomes your gateway in buying online. And a seller will only collect the payment, once you, the buyer receives the product.

Trust issues are even addressed directly!

Fascination on Francis Libiran’s Bridal Collection and the Serendipitous Moment that Came After It

Serendipity. That beautiful word. It haunts me. It amazes me how momentous events in one’s life can actually be captured by a word in the dictionary.  OMG! There is actually a word for it!

And this is how it felt.

IMG_20170427_211214-01

John and I hastily braved the traffic to Forever Francis Libiran’s by J Diamond fashion show. We were so excited we didn’t even eat prior to going.

IMG_20170427_202101IMG_20170427_202127

We were not that late anyway, we were still able to gaze on the lovely ensembles donned by these modern brides.

Francis Libiran 2Francis Libiran 1

I love how exquisite the modern details are. I am a big fan of fusions of whimsical and geometric designs!

The engagement and wedding rings are also beautiful; they make me want to pull the months so I can get married already!

Ms. Hazel Gonzales and Ms. Maria Dimaano from CAVA were also there!  It was nice seeing them again! It turns out that they are friends with Francis Libiran, and they are the ones who did the prenup Hair and Make Up of the gorgeous couple back in Vietnam! Check out my post about CAVA!

IMG_20170427_200406

I also happen to see my blogger friend, Roselle Cee Tee, and it was wonderful to see her again! She, later on, introduced me to Mr. MJ Racadio, a blogger, a mentor, a PR expert, and a publicist!

IMG_20170427_201754

You probably have seen him in my recent social media posts, and that’s because he is the reason why my dream is getting a clearer direction. I cannot wait for the coming days!

Who would have thought that attending this event would make me meet someone who’s about to help me make my dreams come true! It was so serendipitous!

IMG_20170427_205104

So, I think the lesson here is to just go out, leave your shell, and explore the world. You’ll never know who you’re going to meet, and how these circumstances will shape the world you’re about to create in the next five years!

I’m so ecstatic and inspired already!

Make Up Workshop: Look Sexy with Must Be Lexie

Since I was talking about Personality Development in my recent post, I thought I should key in more blog posts about this topic, especially when I have an upcoming entry about makeup!

Yes makeup! OMG!

I was never a good makeup artist. I just know I have to always look presentable, especially when facing clients, and whenever I have to train a class. With the limited talent I have with brushes and blushes, I have to do everything on my own! Imagine my mini heart attacks during events!

Anyway, I have also seen a video depicting the differences between Western and Korean’s style in putting makeup. And I wondered which one is more suitable to my face type.

According to that video, basically, Western Makeup Style looks mature, glamorous, glittery, edgy and often makes someone really look like a movie star.

While Korean Makeup Style appears youthful, glowy, sweet, innocent, and most of the time appears very delicate.

With today’s workshop though, I think I will do a Western look.

IMG_20170301_144341IMG_20170301_144436

That is why it was so timely when I had the chance to join Ms. Lexie Panaligan’s free makeup tutorial!

I was giddy I cannot wait to go!

It was held in Komunidad Filipino Cuisine Restaurant in Antipolo City, and in there Ms. Lexie taught us the basics of doing our own makeup. Here is the guide on which cosmetic/product we should put first before the other. Arranged ordinally are the following:

  1. Eye Cream
  2. Moisturizer
  3. Primer (at the T-zone)
  4. CC Cream
  5. Concealer (Under eyes)
  6. Foundation
  7. Translucent Powder
  8. Eye Shadow
  9. Eyeliner
  10. Eye Curler / Curlash
  11. Mascara (One dip should be enough for both lashes)
  12. Bronzer and Blush
  13. Eyebrow
  14. Concelear (Under the eyes. Again.)
  15. Lipbalm
  16. Lip Color (Lipliners and glosses are optional.)

But if you have braces like me, best way to toss glosses for the meantime. Metals and extra glitters will only create a greasy look, like it’s too busy and that there are so many things going on in one little bodypart!

IMG_20170301_155945IMG_20170301_160634

IMG_20170301_160423

IMG_20170301_164311

We used Mary Kay products, and actually it’s my first time to use them. I particularly adore the foundation, because it felt so light in the face. Their matte lipstick was so rich in color as well!

The key takeaway for me was doing the eyebrows!

I am sooo envious on how others really master the craft of creating the perfect brows, that is why when I learned that all you essentially need, the first and foremost is a good makeup brush.

So here is my finished look!

IMG_20170301_175551

You can achieve that dark to light effect color from your brow bone towards the area where your 2 eyebrows meet, by swiftly gliding your brush from the middle towards the ‘meet-up place’. In that way you only spread lighter shades, not making them look like some stickers plastered above your eyes.

I also got to take home a Mary Kay Eye Brow Liner. Thanks so much! 🙂

Komunidad food was great as well; I didn’t know this junction offer such great meals!

IMG_20170301_170826IMG_20170301_170905

So thanks to this, no more brow-horrors for me! And I think that’s so sexy!

IMG_20170301_171933IMG_20170301_175724

By the way, you can find Ms. Lexie Panaligan in her page Must Be Lexie to know more about makeup tips and tutorial schedules!

Have you joined any make up workshops? What was your key takeaway? 🙂

Li-Luck Holiday

Honestly, I didn’t know what I was going to wear when it was announced that we’ll be having two Christmas parties in one day, not to mention that we ARE the organizers for both events.

Yes, we’re suicidal and badass like that!

Anyway, goodie both celebrations have an identical theme, which means I get to wear two different ensembles. I just have to work on some things to make both looks stand out.

So for my formal wear number one (worn in AURA: Empire East ‘s Sales Christmas Party), I decided to use the gown I wore as a bridesmaid back in 2014. It’s silver and rhinestones hinted a party vibe, along with the mellowing down a bit of lilac chiffon for the bottom part. It made me feel more girly.

One thing, this dress isn’t exactly mine. I accidentally picked my sister’s gown instead of my own. We have the similar bridesmaid gowns with slightly differentiated straps. I must have confused the straps when I was rummaging in the closet.

My sister is extra busty and shapy by the way, so I had to cinch the strap with a pin. Good thing everything went smoothly! Plus, I didn’t spend money in buying or renting a gown! Oh yeah, I had it drycleaned pala!

Oh well, I think it’s worth it!

What is your Christmas Party theme? Let me know in the comments below!
