7 Times I Felt Fearless, Fierce and Playfully Bold (Some Secrets Revealed!)

Have you ever had that moment when the world agrees that you are weak, obsolete, and someone who cannot do anything better with her life?

If your answer is yes, same here! šŸ˜€

Everybody has those periods of weaknesses, but it doesn’t matter how many times you felt betrayed, disappointed, hurt – all that matters is that you were able to rise up, and be a phoenix from those ashes.

Let me share something personal today because I’m feeling sentimental and extra motivating. Haha šŸ˜€ Because nothing is sweeter and worth-reading that those inspiring stories that let you reflect on your own to do something that will yield growth for the next 24 hours.

On Family and Friends

  1. I am a registered nurse, and obviously, I didn’t pick my course, but I had to do it because that’s what my Dad wants. I had to be a good daughter, and I know he just wants the best for me. After graduation, and passing the boards, I knew I had to do something with my life, and that doesn’t include using my PRC license.

nurse

My Dad and I had a discussion, a long and gruesome one. He wanted me to join the family business if I don’t intend to work in a hospital. I was so thirsty with the life outside of school, so I made my stand. I said I want to work and experience how it is like to be part of an organization that does not involve any assistance or connection from my parents. I want to know if I am cut for a job, just by being me.

And so, I got hired and became an SEO Copywriter! No assistance, no connections. License not needed. Just me, and whatever I have in this frail little body.

  1. Sometimes, it really takes a whole lot of courage to be honest with a friend, especially if you think that the truth might hurt them. I once had an experience with a friend who wants to change her life and attract a mate but didn’t know where to start. I had to tell her that she needs to love and take good care of herself, to invite wealthy situations and wonderful people in her life.

Golly, I was so cautious to pick the right words so I wouldn’t have to hurt her feelings, especially when I told her she needed a makeover. But that’s something I am not regretting, because she was able to change her disposition towards herself, and that’s quite enough for me.

On Career

  1. I took 3 board exams. The Nursing Licensure Exam, which I passed. The Real Estate Broker Exam, which I passed, again. And the Real Estate Appraiser Exam, which I failed.

I have never felt such a failure in my entire life. I have always been accustomed to winning, to getting what I want, and not anticipating anything might go wrong. As for my plans for the 3rd exam, I got a taste of something I never even planned of cooking.

My boss back then told me, that I don’t have to prove anything, as far as career is concerned. I am good at what I’m doing, and a failed attempt for a third license is not going to diminish my value as a professional and as a person.

I soon realized that failures are just disguised blessings, because fate and Someone Up There has their way of giving you something more, something you deserve, and something that’s going to weigh more than the other failed plans you even bothered conjuring.

After that, I became a Shoe Designer and a Public Speaker. Not bad, don’t you think?

  1. I was too shy to raise concerns about my needs and directions as a professional, thinking that I may be regarded as too ambitious or too demanding. But after months of contemplating and reflecting, I was able to finally find the nerve and the bravery to speak up.

I filed my resignation. And soon started a career on freelance, and put up my own business.

IMG_20170914_160656-01

IMG_20170914_160732-01

I knew the career path I wanted to take, and I am thankful I found the guts to follow it; knowing that my dreams will not be handed to me, I have to get them myself.

On Love

  1. It’s funny how some people advise you that no one goes away from someone who is tall, fair, beautiful, rich, an heir to a business empire, etc. But nobody tells you that it’s also okay to let go when you think the relationship is going nowhere.

How is that even possible? I once had this perfect guy, and he was all sweet and nice, and gentlemanly, and everything you can think of your ideal prince charming. Only that, he was not customized for me. He was a generic Ken doll, andĀ  I’m a specialized Barbie.

It took me almost a year to realize that, and muster the sanity that I have to get out of that relationship. I was kidding myself that maybe I was too ā€œmaarteā€ or too choosy. He was indeed a perfect guy, but not the perfect One for me.

So I guess do not be afraid of walking out on the love that you think you don’t deserve.

  1. I’d like to use this part on how I met my husband. I was definitely the epitome of fearless, fierce and exceptionally bold. I met him on Christmas of 2015 in a club in BGC.

John+Via-429_preview.jpeg

He was like a shiny new toy. Chinito, may braces, makinis, rosy lips, very Oppa! Someone I think will not even give me a second look. We chatted for a while, maybe around 45 minutes tops, and then my tita friends said we had to go home.

It was 3AM! But I was so engrossed in his personality and our conversation, that I asked them (my friends) for an extra 15 minutes. But my girl buddies were on haste. So I had to decide if I should go home or not.

FB_IMG_1513781005237.jpg

FB_IMG_1514453335642.jpg

John+Via Wedding-318_preview.jpeg

In about 2 seconds in my mind I was thinking like: If I go home, I will always wonder what will have been had I stayed? But if I stay, I will find out. After all, you only live once. And it’s just one adventurous night, that I can tell my future grandkids!

Yes, for 2 seconds!

So I said, ā€œI’ll stay! For 30minutes. Then I’ll leave, promise!ā€

Haha šŸ˜€ At the back of my head, I was taking a chance. On a total stranger! That I just met that night! Allowing myself to have 30 minutes of a chance at a possible boyfriend, or friend, or connection. Haha šŸ˜€ Assuming!

John+Via Wedding-333_preview.jpeg

If I knew I was staying for a chance at love, marriage, and for the rest of my life, I could have dropped that 30-minute detail in my disclaimer! Haha šŸ˜€

You can imagine my friends’ reactions when I told them I’m choosing to stay. Haha :p

So the lesson is, take risks! But choose them wisely! šŸ˜€

On Life

  1. The most difficult downfall I ever had was to witness my mother pass away from the life as we know it.

You can never prepare enough for a death of a loved one, especially with someone who was entirely essential to make you alive for your first 9 months of life.

She was my hero – my biggest influence. I still get teary when I talk and write about her. I feel so honored to be her daughter, to be her extension, to be her legacy.

IMG_20180521_162113.JPG

FB_IMG_1526891154687.jpg

There is no forgetting, you may just get used to the pain, in that small hollow part in your heart. I may have moved on, but her memory will always flourish, and the fact that she has shared her strength, her wisdom, her talent, her passion, her love, her life to me is what’s going to making me fearless, fierce, and playfully bold for the rest of my years until I see her again.

And that my merfriend is how you own life, be unabashedly beautiful, confident, unfazed by nothing, and empowered from within.

How to Dress Bohemian without Trying Too Hard

Bohemian Style is probably one of the fashion looks I never got to completely pull – maybe because my Mom, who is predominantly my fashion consultant, never really had the inspiration to dress me this way.

bohemian-festival

She was too busy making me look prim and proper, with all those flowers and bows, and everything pink and lacy.

That is why I was quite curious with this fashion style that I tried to piece together a recipe that’s going to be friendly to ā€œnewbie hippiesā€ like me, meaning looking like someone who’s not totally clueless, and can easily pull off the boho style without looking too amateur. You get me?

Anyway, let’s define it first.

Bohemian style often referred to as ā€œbohoā€ or ā€œboho chicā€ is a style of dressing that was popularized during the 1960s and 1970s.

The essence of bohemian is focusing on free and flowy fabrics. This style also emphasizes concern for the environment so natural fabrics and used clothing are commonly worn. You can say that it’s not something you have to spend a fortune on. Good thing!

The bohemian style also emphasizes finding the clothing that makes you feel in harmony with yourself and with nature so we can say that it is safe to not assume that there are any strict and fast rules about what is and isn’t bohemian.

THE WARDROBE

The look is inspired by traveling gypsies, which means they have to travel with almost everything they own that they devised the layering technique. This keeps them warm and allows them to avoid carry extra heavy clothing.

Most Bohemian clothes also come with long flowy skirts. The idea is to be free and look relaxed. These are very comfortable and if worn right can make anyone look extra inches taller.

I have been eyeing some great finds at DRESSLILY, and I cannot wait to SHOP NOW.

THE HAIR AND MAKEUP

Since this look has a very tranquil vibe, your makeup can just look simple and natural. If you have wavy hair, you can just opt to style it by using a mouse to keep the natural curls and waves. If you have straight hair, you can change up in a good braid. This will make your whole look more bohemian!

THE ACCESSORIES

wsi-imageoptim-hippie-accessories-ethnic-necklace-bohemian-jewelry

If your outfit is pretty subtle, you can add a few bold pieces of jewellery, but stick to natural tones and avoid jewelry that is plastic. Look for accessories that are made from leather, refined wooden threads, beads, and shells.

1510636878959061923

Colorful earrings are my favorite!

You can also add belts, scarves, and hats to complement your look.

THE SHOES

shoes

Nothing is ever complete without your trusty shoes! You can wear leather sandals, beaded shoes, or even cute leather boots!

And now you’re ready for your Bohemian style debut! Of course, there are lots of things you can add, but these 4 major boho staples combined together is your express ticket into winning that Bohemian look!

Do you think you can pull this off? Let’s try together, shall we? šŸ˜€

5 Clothes You Should Be Hoarding this Summer and What You Can Pair Them With

No doubt, that I’m unapologetically biased only to two seasons Ā in the Philippines – summer and Christmas!

Now while the cold and merriment is still so far off in the calendar, I would like to draw more attention to the season we’re currently at, and happily uncomplaining about!

IMG_1926-01.jpeg

Since I’m pregnant too, and very giddy to get my old body back, let me share with you some clothes that I’ve been dying to wear myself and believe will make your Instagram profiles worth more hearts and followers than they already have.

Here they are!

  1. A Graphic Tee

Graphic Tee

This is totally a classic! Nothing is more convincing for a laidack + chic combo than a top with happy colors and edgy figures. You can also pair it with shorts and white sneakers, or you can even wear a long tight skirt with a sexy slit to add more flare!

  1. Dainty and Frilly Romper

    Dainty and Frilly

Old rose or muted pink is just perfect for all skin colors! They complement every complexion, and scream sophistication. This number can be very versatile as well, just change your shoes and you can whisk your event from dawn to dusk!

  1. Bohemian Floral Dress

Bold Color with Mini Florals

This dress is also very flexible. You can opt to look girly or a little on the boho side. You can pair it with stappy sandals, blocked heels, criss-cross flats, booths, sneakers, you name it! Plus, it doesn’t hurt to wear a boater hat too, or would you rather wear a bow scarf instead?

  1. Striped Shirt Dress

Stripes

It actually depends how you would want to wear this one. As for me, I would definitely wear this as a dress. I can just wear a little denim shorts underneath, just to be safe! And I can pair it with a nice duo of black high heels, pony tail, gold hoop earrings and a bloody red lipstick. I like how all of these details put something so simple, yet so foxy.

Or if you’re a little conservative, you can always pair this with a posh acid-washed skinny jeans and some boldly colored flats, or taupe, whichever mood you’re in. J

But I would still recommend the ponytail. This way, your sexy shoulders can get the attention they truly deserve.

  1. Maxi White Floral Dresses

    Maxi White Florals

Maxi Formal

These ensembles can be perfect for beach trips and formal events. You can even wear one to a wedding, plus it doesn’t need too much accessorizing. Just a pair of little earrings and a nice bag and you’re good to go!

It would be awesome if you have these in your wardrobe already, but just in case this post gave you another reason to hoard some new clothes, you can always check ZAFUL to see their amazing collections!

Trust, it’s worth a look! šŸ˜€

So what are you waiting for, get hold of your summer ootds and SHOP NOW! šŸ˜€

From Being Half-Orphan to Marrying my Better-Half, and All the Life-Changing Crazy Things of 2017

It’s the last day of the year, and I normally do not blog to review what happened in the last 364 days, but for 2017, I’m making an exception.

There has been no year that has saddened, challenged, frustrated, and uplifted me so much. So to give reference, and make me remember in the future, I’d like to share with you my year, in review.

January – Mom passed away.

20161001_232217_HDR

Not exactly the thing I was expecting for the first week of the year. And for the rest of my life, starting at my 27th year on earth.

I never felt so low in my life, and be subjected in a state of so much disbelief. This is something you can never recover from, but you can get used to.

20161002_043119_HDR

Sadness. Longing. Regret. Few of the many despairing words you feel when someone you love dies. But then again it leaves you with so much awe how that person has affected you so much, that the feelings left can actually change and improve your perspectives on how you would want to live your remaining days until you see her again.

FB_IMG_1487117005686

FB_IMG_1487116880962

As for me, I want to make her proud everyday.

February – I got engaged.

Again, disbelief.

As I accepted that ring 31,000 feet above the ground I knew my life is about to change even more.

engage1

At that moment, I knew this year is going to kick my butt every chance it gets. It maybe for the better or worse, but I just have to be ready at every whim when the kick comes.

But this one, I love so much.

wp-1488519877894.jpg

I was single for 4 years from a colorful 6-year relationship, and at 26 I was worried that I might be still single until I’m 30. I’m not getting any younger, and I was a bit panicky for myself already.

But hey, love finds you when you least expect it.

wp-1488521222643.jpg

I just can’t believe I’m getting married to a younger man I met in a club. 😮 And I’ve never been more sure in my life.

March – I resigned.

I ended my 5-year tenure to one of the most established and elite real estate companies in the country.

FB_IMG_1511856333851.jpgFB_IMG_1504916261064.jpgFB_IMG_1505216976406.jpg

I never thought I could be that brave. But then again, choices have to be made, and things are going to turn in one way or another.

FB_IMG_1512127026402.jpg

My resignation just happen to be marked on this month.

It was a big leap, the biggest actually for my career. It was heart-breaking and liberating at the same time.

And the most forward-thinking if I may say. I wasn’t planning on shifting to another organization, so it was truly a game-changer.

I was now on my own, planning my own game.

April – I got my first paid freelance talk and a feature in Rappler. And, I changed my hair color!

Changing my haircolor to a very bold hue was one of the bravest and best decisions I made in my life!

Changing it didn’t just paved the way for new opportunities, it also armed me with a whole new gear of confidence for much riskier and happier adventures!

A month ago, I never thought someone would want to hire me to talk in their company. I mean, I’ve never talked anywhere without representing where I’m working for.

FB_IMG_1514716454026.jpg

But that day, I felt like a superwoman! I felt like I could do anything, as long as I pour my heart into it.

I created a new module and syllabus, and facilitating it felt like I was already teaching it for a long time.

FB_IMG_1514716456998.jpg

I really have to thank my experience and the opportunities given to me before, without which I wouldn’t have the skill to create something of my own.

I will always be grateful. šŸ™‚

Screenshot_20171110_130646-01.jpeg

And I also made friends with a young photographer and writer who happens to be having her on-the-job-training in Rappler. I didn’t knew participating in her OJT interview feature assignment would actually end up being released in this bigtime news site!

šŸ™‚

May – I got a publicist and had my first meeting with a celebrity for Versaheel.

IMG_20170427_205104

This was waaaaay over the top. I was like, it’s barely half a year! And now this? I met this International Blogger and Publicist named MJ Racadio, and he opened doors I never knew were even there before!

IMG_20170507_235922

I met him in a Francis Libiran Fashion Show, and he took interest in my shoe work, and before I know it, I was meeting and dressing up Jaclyn Jose.

June – I was named a blogger ambassador for a brand.

IMG_20170628_150158-01

My blog is still new. I wasn’t that kind who was very religious when it comes to updating her blog, but I am striving very hard, that was why I was so shocked when I got an email about a brand wanting to partner with Encyclopevia.

IMG_20170628_151550-01

Gown for Rent couldn’t be timelier as I was set to be married soon. So it provided a really good angle for me to write on. And I enjoyed shooting amazing gowns from their studio!

And since you’re right here already, next time you need a quick outfit fix for an event, you can rent your beautiful dress for a price you can’t refuse, and get 20% off! Use my code: GFRVIA728

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

(Hehe :* :* Plug plug plug! :p )

July – Together with my then-fiance, we booked our major wedding suppliers and I was invited to talk in a business expo in SM Megamall.

At this moment, I was extra concerned already because I haven’t quite done a good deal for our wedding planning. I was totally freaking out about the date I wanted, if it’s still available in our non-negotiable church.

IMG_20170702_171602.jpg

To my good grief, it was STILL! Not the best time slot, but it will do! šŸ™‚

I felt so triumphant, because after two days, we were also able to book the reception and caterer which is just 5minutes away from the church! Yay! šŸ˜€

#SmartBride

IMG_20170729_173953.jpgIMG_20170729_174127.jpg

I also had the stage all to myself when I discussed Instagram Marketing with a bunch of business owners, marketers and students in an expo in SM Megamall. Mall talks are a big deal for me!

IMG_20170729_153718.jpg

This was the same organization that gave me an opportunity to talk in Glorietta last year. Gladly, I was more calm on this one compared to the travel expo in 2016.

IMG_20170729_161826.jpg

August – I travelled to Cambodia and Malaysia and got my first feature in a TV show.

This year is totally giving me a lot of firsts.

IMG_20170807_132617-01.jpeg

I got to visit Siem Reap, Cambodia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! I love travelling! It has made me understand more people and their unique cultures!

I believe aside from being a good story-teller, you also become a better and more tolerant person when you travel.

IMG_20170810_200150.jpg

Plus, I got to see my face on TV for the first time! Not as an audience of a show, but actually as myself!

I got featured in News5 at TV5 for my story as a shoe designer, and a live interview was also held in Pambansang Almusal at Net25 featuring my work and some designs.

FB_IMG_1514718468348.jpg

IMG_20170914_145451.jpg

I never thought I’ll have these opportunities this early when I am just a girl who is madly fixated with shoes.

September – I enrolled in a shoe construction class.

Taking my shoe designer dreams and skills to the next level! My then-fiance and I thought it would be a great move to learn more about the craft.

I was so excited because I have always dreamed of studying in SoFA (School of Fashion and Arts).

IMG_20170916_170423.jpg

I learned to design with more precision, do pattern-making and the actual shoe-making! I am stocking so much leathers at home already! 😮

IMG_20170930_174847.jpg

I even earned my first battle scar! šŸ˜€ I accidentally cut myself while I was tracing my pattern in the shoe last. I am so thrilled on getting my own shoe machines soon!

October –My first shoe collaboration project happened.

IMG_1326IMG_1247

Before I was just taking photos from the shoe factories, Marikina Public Market, and the basement of Farmers’ Plaza, but now I actually experienced shooting a collection of my own designs! What’s better is that it is for a collaboration between a New York-based artist, Peter Marco of MARCO NOT POLO.

untitled (9 of 17)

The Princess and the Peacock 2My heart swells with joy as I also made good collaborations with Tobi Cabrera of Funkadelic Photos and Joshua Miguel Paungan of A Day in the Life.

November – I met new people for the first time who recognized me and read my blog.

2017-11-17 05.49.51 1.jpg

This was such a revelation for me. Some people ARE actually reading my blog! OMG!

I went to some events and met new friends, and to my surprise they recognize Encyclopevia! As it turned out, they’ve visited our humble page before already! I was so kilig and happy! I cannot wait to meet all of you soon and share stories together! šŸ™‚

December – I got married.

I may have started this year pretty sad, but the happiness it brought me as 2017 ends was unimaginable.

There were a lot of hiccups that happened on why we were able to celebrate our civil wedding in the last month of the year.

There were age, time and ID issues to name a few, but I guess everything came in to fruition when we finally set the date on December 20, 2017 – exactly two years after we first met!

FB_IMG_1514714935510.jpg

With only 28 days for planning, I am pleased to write that we were able to carry out our goals, and even got bonuses along the way.

FB_IMG_1514453335642.jpg

It’s just fleeting to celebrate a very special day with all the people you love, who reciprocate the same ardour (fortunately for us) as well.

I cannot explain how happy I am that my prayers were answered and the long wait for God’s perfect time was all worth it.

FB_IMG_1513781005237.jpg

So 2018, get ready! I’m tougher and (more) ready for your new kicks! šŸ˜€

Wishing you more love and happiness for the year to come! :*

I Just Made My First Slytherin-Inspired Leather Sandals

Back in 2008, I had the chance to make my very own slippers. It was a program initiated by the local government, and my mom was one of the organizers. She asked me to attend. I was way too happy that I documented it, and even blogged in my now defunct Multiply blog.

After 9 years, I am just so thrilled that I can finally do the sandal-making all over again! But this was different, I was the one in-charge of the design! šŸ˜€

I recently blogged about enrolling in SoFA (School of Fashion and Arts) for Shoe Construction. Ms Tal de Guzman, Founder and Shoe Designer of Risque Designs was our mentor. She taught and assisted us in making our very own leather sandals.

All the materials were provided, so the design limit is just our creativity!

But knowing my quirky side, I had to find a way to make a unique pair of sandals. If it was something I can buy in a local store, what’s the point of making it?

This was actually the kind of battle I was fighting over in my head, whether I should stick on the classic and common ā€œmore saleableā€ designs, and make queer, out of the ordinary, never-before-seen kind of shoes.

Well, I think you know what I chose.

There’s just soooo many brands in the world already that sell the same designs. I thought, if I want to make a mark, I have to different. I have to be more than just exciting. I have to be unforgettable.

There were limited colors for leathers, so I just chose what will work with what’s available. I got inspired by the Slytherin colors, so I picked silver and emerald.

I don’t have sharp scissors back then, so I just have to cut the leather via a cutter. And mind you, I never expected this will be a workout!

My arm muscles were on fire! Or that may be too much, but yeah, they were painful!

I had to measure the shoe last or the wooden foot-shaped mold so I can perfectly cut and lay the leather.

To give the design a surprising twist, I used a 5-peso coin to cut the arc.

To tell you honestly, I am that kind of designer who still changes her mind even during the actual construction. I just think a lot of opportunities and ideas reveal themselves not just on the designing stage, but even on the actual manufacturing.

Who am I to deny these new ideas, right? Hehe

After lots of adhesive application, leather-pulling, and material adjusting, I finally made my Slytherin leather sandals!

Yaaay! šŸ˜€

What do you think merfriends? Should I make this for Versaheel?

Let me know your thoughts! šŸ˜€

**, Via

AR(t)+TE(chnique) : How Versatile is Versaheel?

I would like to write about something that’s very close to my heart.

If you have been following me on my Instagram and Facebook Page, you would have probably seen or got a glimpse of the new project I am working on.

Redefine Versatility

As a shoe designer for my own startup, it’s quite a challenge to learn how to put things all together: materials, construction techniques, fabric manipulation, aesthetics and style.

That is why it is no wonder that when I learned that an established International brand would like to collaborate with me, I was totally shookt.

It kinds of feels like getting promoted to a position you’ll never know you’ll reach in just a year’s tenure, but so much better.

MARCO NOT POLOMarco Not Polo 1

The amazing team behind MARCO NOT POLO was very kind and extremely hands-on ever since we got into planning.

As a shoe designer, I had many considerations. One of which is the global demand on certain shoe types. I was advised that since this will be launched in North America, we might have to lean more on flats, to accommodate the lifestyle and increase market reach of those who will be wearing them.

I actually did not have any problems with that. We thought of making 5 pairs first, and then take it from there.

I would like to share it with you. How it all came about.

  1. Golfriend

I was pretty excited to name all of these babies that depict female characters and personalities.

I also got inspired with androgynous shoes that have interchangeable fringes. Hence, this. šŸ˜€

The salmon fringe is my favorite! They are so bold and very poppy!

  1. Shellen of Troy

IMG_1247

The shells remind me of my mermaid-loving self. Hehe šŸ˜€

Since the colors were girly, I tried to tweak it by having the art in an androgynous pair, with particular details of course – interchangeable straps!

By far this design took the longest, because you have 24 straps all in all! 8 straps each for blue, white and pink!

Now, you don’t have to stick to only one color! The combinations are endless! I’ve actually lost count of possibilities!

I really had so much fun designing this!

  1. Miss Unicorn

Miss Unicorn 2

Unicorns are everywhere! They are in cellphone cases, restaurants, pajamas, onesies, and even in makeup! So I thought, why not in shoes!

Plus, mules are having a comeback! With a wild rage to boot! So I was sure they would really make a perfect combo! šŸ™‚

Not to mention, look how cute the interchangeable bows are!

  1. Peacocko Chanel

The Princess and the Peacock 2

I have always been a fan of Coco Chanel, her designs and perspectives in life. That is why I named one of my shoes in honor of her. This design is the classiest among all the shoes in this collection if I may say.

You could say I was a bit experimental with this pair. Canvas is usually tailored for casuals and in the pop culture, so I tried to push it further and bring it to another notch as a candidate for more formal occasions.

You can also customize the straps on these! šŸ˜€

What do you think? Will you wear this on a cocktail night?

  1. Skulleesi

I bet you know how I played with the name of the shoes already! šŸ˜€

Yes, it’s from Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen , Queen of the Andals and First Men, the Breaker of Chains, the Unburnt, the Khlaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Mother of Dragons.

Typing the above title just from memory! Hehe Yes, I’m a huge fan! šŸ˜€

This is actually my favorite! It’s clean, fun and surprisingly an attention-seeker. You can actually change the backstraps to different colors! šŸ˜€

Plus, the heel height isn’t too high as well! Just perfect for your on-the-go or travel OOTD! šŸ˜€  Yay!

Versatility and the ability to make fashion choices is the key that guided me towards the whole process. I want to be able to achieve different looks of the shoes without having to spend another dime. And I am so happy to be able to share that with you. And I really hope you like them! šŸ˜€

I cannot wait till they hit the fashion runway on November 18, 2017 at Calgary, Canada! If you’re in Canada, you might want to visit the show, and check out Marco Not Polo and the other amazing brands!

Whew! It just feels so good to finally reveal this project after so much hardwork we put into it.

I hope you get to support this Marikina and Filipino-made products! šŸ˜€

Finally Studying Shoe Design and Construction

I got an email 2 months ago about a workshop I am not even crazy enough to believe. Turns out the fashion school I have been eyeing and pestering for so many years actually made my wish come true!

Finally, I get to study Shoe Design and Construction!

I remember sending lots of private messages to them just to inquire and prepare my schedule. And years ago, they actually had a workshop, but I was too busy for work to attend!

I am just soĀ kilig with all these! Everything just comes into place, with the grace of God and His perfect timing!

If you are someone who’s thinking of jumping into your life’s next big adventure, just do it! If not now, when?

As what Steve Harvey says, that if you jump, your parachute will open. Not immediately, it may take time, but it will open one day. But if you don’t jump, you can be assured that your parachute will NEVER open.

So, just JUMP! šŸ˜€

Lets toast for chasing our dreams, and for not being afraid to be the ambitious ones!

Work on that dream! Make that idea happen. TODAY!

Wedding Gown for Rent + Giveaway

Hi merfriends! šŸ˜€

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! šŸ˜€

I have been very busy with Versaheel, and some speaking engagements, so I barely had time to blog. But goodie, I have now!

Two months ago, I uploaded my very first vlog, and it’s about my amazing collaboration with Gown for Rent.

Gown for Rent is a sustainable and eco-friendlyĀ gownĀ and accessory rental shop located in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Founded by Roxy Roco in partnership with the CustomThread Inc., last 2012 after rebranding fromĀ customdesigndress.comĀ that created custom gowns.

I actually knew about them when I was in search for a gown for last year’s Christmas Party. My then company will hold two parties on the same day, meaning, I have to change twice.

Of course, I don’t have the time to wait for a custom dress, let alone spend big amounts of money to wear one for only 4 hours, so I opted to look for gown rentals such as theirs.

Little did I know, my blog will soon be collaborating with them! I was actually in love with the Tala Gown when I saw it on their website. I envisioned that I will probably be wearing something like this when I finally walk down the aisle.

I love how simple it is! I was enamored by beads and mesh way back 2010, and I’m sure a lot of brides and bride-to-bes appreciate that sort of design.

Fast-forward to 7 years after, trends started to influence me more, so I’d rather wear more textured dresses than beaded ones.

No wonder, this is the first gown I chose to wear for the photoshoot! It was surreal! I felt like I was meeting a celebrity! Haha šŸ˜€ I only got to see it on the site, that is why shivers of glee took over when I finally got to wear it!

Since I finally had the time to post this awesome collab, I am throwing in something more!

Up to 75% off!

Bride-to-bes, maid of honors, bridesmaids and merfriends who would like to have this gown worn by their soon-to-be bride friends, this is your chance to slash a big amount of expense!

Versaheel’s First Feature Interview on National TV

Once again, I’m trying to beat myself with my thoughts on the impossibility of blogging via smartphone.

And for another moment, I’m currently eating my own words for I am here at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, parasiting on their fast and generous wifi connection.

I am ecstatic to come home yet a little jittery for I am about to jump into a whole new world.

I was at Siem Reap when my first national tv feature interview aired. Thank goodness for Facebook!

I was able to watch myself and hear how my little dream is blossoming.

Being interviewed  was surreal. I came from a talk and had to pick up the shoes. I arrived just in time and managed to do a little retouch.

My shoes were laid flat and Ms Laila Chikadora was wonderful enough to get to know me and how I started Versaheel first, before the actual shoot.

It was just like talking to a friend actually. I never felt I was speaking to a star reporter. She was so nice!

My heart leaped heights above when she said she loved the Snaky Reed Somerhalder I gave her.

This was why we mimicked this popular emoji pose! Hehe

I would like you to know that I am just an ordinary girl, who just envisions and works very hard for all of these things to happen.

That is why I am extremely grateful for all of the opportunities and the people who are giving me a chance to show what I’m capable of.

After News5, I am set to have my first live interview for Pambansang Almusal in Net25.

Catch me live merfriends (for real! Live na talaga OMG!) on Aug 14, 2017 Monday at 6AM.

I’m probably going to be super nerved not to stutter! Hehe Wish me luck! šŸ˜€
