I took this chance to experience Hand and Foot Paraffin! It was hot at first, but you’ll get used to it in no time!

When I got into their Fisher Mall branch to have some perfect nail-time,I also saw a good friend! Yay! It’s Me-an Clemente of Yogo and Cream! I remember being extra chatty with her during a pampering session last July.

11 Ways to Extend the Life of Your Nail Polish – Nailaholics, Unimart Greenhills

 Nothing spells “high-maintenance” than having well-groomed and polished nails. I learned this way back in my training about power grooming and business etiquette.

Having nicely painted digits is a must especially if you always find yourself meeting a lot of people and exchanging more handshakes than cards.

With all the talks I am conducting and the presentation preps, I rarely have the time to visit a salon. Good thing I learned that Nailaholics will open its newest branch to date at the new Unimart Greenhills! Of course, I wouldn’t miss being there for the world!

Alongside with the nail pampering, I’d like to share with you some tips I took away from the Nail Experts of Nailaholics Unimart at Greenhills in extending the life of our mani and pedis!

1. Make sure your nails are moisturized before getting your manicure. Hydrated nail beds cause less nail breakage and chips.

2. Always use a base coat before painting colour on. This protects your nails from staining and also acts as a great adhesive for the polish ensuring lasting colour.

3. Apply thin coats of polish with every stroke. It dries quickly and doesn’t cause bubbles.

4. Wait a couple of minutes between each coat to make sure the nail polish adheres properly to its base.

5. A horizontal swipe across the tip of your nails after your final coat, along the edge, seals the colour in and protects your nails against chipping.

6. If you’re rushing, dip your tips in ice cold water to harden the nail polish quicker.

7. To extend the life (and shine) of your manicure, apply really thin coats of topcoat every other day.

8. Be sure to wear gloves while doing the dishes—water expands the nail bed and causes the nail polish to chip.

9. Cuticle oil helps freshen up your manicure and moisturize your hand.

10. Don’t bite your nails!

11. Be careful when applying skin care products. Certain types can cause the nail polish to dull and discolour like sunscreen and mosquito repellents.

My Vivere Salon Glorietta Experience with Hairstylist JC Espiritu

Two months ago I decided to dye my hair rose gold but got out with ginger hair instead. If you happen to read my post about it, you might get a flashback. 🙂

But what seemed to be a mistake, turned out to be a unexpected blessing! Because with this new hair color, people recognize me more!

I remember one time when I was eating in Trinoma, a friend passed by the glass window and immediately caught sight of my hair. She wondered if it was really me! Haha It was! 😀

In Gateway, I was walking on the grounds surrounding the coliseum, when a friend got out of a nearby restaurant and approached me. Whenever there’s a blog event or a speaking engagement, people call me “Via” already, without asking for my name! It’s crazy! 😀

So I guess ginger hair helped me in more ways than I expected. I haven’t even thought of it as a part of my branding. 😀

My publicist actually advised me to maintain it, because it has provided me an extension of my brand as a blogger and as a shoe designer.

And of course, we know that a lot of things don’t lasts forever, especially hair color and length. As my hair grew longer (as if it’s not long enough),  the roots are starting to show, and the once highly pigmented strands is beginning to fade.

That is why it was so timely that I got to visit Vivere Salon in Glorietta, and have my much-awaited hair retouch and makeover!

I booked an Uber to Glorietta 2, and surprisingly I found the salon too soon than I thought I would. It’s on the  3rd floor, in front of Electro World.

I love how posh their salon is. It even has this geometric design I am so crazy about! 😀

Since my hair color was actually just an accident, it may be difficult to duplicate. The original hue wasn’t red, or orange, or pink, it seems like a fusion of all 3. The tint changes magnificently in different levels of lighting.

My favorite was the one under a yellow misty light in Francis Libiran’s Fashion Show. It had a rich, romantic and regal tinge to it.

So this is my hair that needs all the love it can get!

JC Espiritu, the resident Senior Hair Stylist in Vivere Salon Glorietta worked his magic in creating the color I wanted. He posed some techniques about the duration of the bleaching cream on my crowning glory, and some hairstyling words that sounded alien to me.

I specifically told and showed him that I have to achieve THAT certain color because it’s part of my self-branding. People recognize me to have that red-orange hair color.

Ms Eveb (Junior Hair Stylist) helped me bleach my hair roots until they turned corn yellow. The rest of my mane has already been bleached previously, so there was no need for additional creams.

The concoction was painful as expected, but I didn’t mind. All for beauty!

I got my hair washed, and I swear I look like an easter egg here! I was actually in doubt whether I should upload this, but hey, we all got flaws! Haha 🙂

After an hour or less, my hair was ridden off the cream, and had to be blow dried. Honestly, I didn’t mind going out of the salon with a gradient yellow to orange hair!

I look like a total walking sunset in this! But, the process isn’t finished yet, so I have to stay seated.

This was the time Sir JC showed me the hair dye emulsion. They particularly look like the pigment I wanted, so I was so excited!

He said, “Ms Via, nag-magic ako!”

It was Sir JC’s idea to have my eyebrows dyed as well. They turned shades lighter as in! 

My “kilay is life” game looks more appealing, and suiting for my raspberry hair!

True enough, his potion-skills were excellent!

I didn’t just get the color I wanted, it was even better! 😀

I have never wanted a hair color so much in my life! Not to mention, that finally, there is a salon that exists that can actually make your hair color dreams come true!

My signature hair is BAAAAAAACK!

And it’s better, red-oranger, gingerer, mermaid-ier and Ariel-er! 😀

I can’t contain my happiness, this is even better than having legs! That is why I can’t help but splash out hugs and flipping fins to the best hair experts in the land!

3 Excuses You Can Tell Yourself to Visit Antara Wellness Spa

If I ask you to make a list of your once-you-try-it-you’re-never-gonna-stop things, what would they contain? Well, I started pondering on mine, and here is what I came up with:

1. Getting a good massage
2. Traveling
3. Shoe Shopping

Were you surprised by my number 1? Well, I guess shoe shopping and traveling is pretty self-explanatory, and probably they’re also included in yours. And so I would like to write more about my first addiction, which is getting a good massage.

I have read in one article, that it’s good to get regular massages at least once a week. I even know someone who has it every day. Lucky guy! But for busy people, especially those who are always on the go, this luxury isn’t quite the same. Hello! Someone signed up for that roster, right here! And so I have always been in constant search for good places to get reflexology services.

How fortunate it was when we found Antara Wellness Spa! “Antara” was taken from the concept of Indo-China which includes the countries of Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

The spa features eight well-appointed treatment rooms, a scrub room and a dedicated area for foot washing and leg massage. Each room is decorated in relaxing tones, ever so gently calmed by shaded natural light.

It is located in the heart of Manila and they offer amazing packages, same as with their individual rubbing magic!

I know, I know, you’re probably thinking about the rates right now. If it’s that good, that I had to use the word ‘magic’, the services must come in pricey. Plus, you’re so busy you don’t even have the time to visit, hence, even read this blog! So allow me to share you my list on why you should give yourself some slack, and head on to Antara to start your weekly massage routine.

1. Experience divine flavored sea-salt body scrubs!

The last time I had a body scrub was way waaaay too long that I can’t remember. Goodie I was able to experience it again and refresh me my memory. I availed Antara 3 that includes Antara Signature Massage and Body Scrub.

There were two flavors to choose from. Strawberry flavor was recommended to me since most girls really love it. The other flavor was Lavender, and men prefer it more. Although Dennis, the owner of Antara, mentioned that they’re going to be offering Vanilla and Chocolate flavors soon! Yummy!

I had my body scrub in their washroom, and it was such a delight! The bed was surprisingly comfy, and the water can be easily adjusted based on how you want it. According to my masseuse, Ms. Alma, their foreign clients who come from colder places like it really hot. Although, I just stuck to lukewarm.

The body scrub felt nice on the skin, and the smell of strawberries made me want to eat yogurt after. Actually, it was more like I felt how it was like to be a fruit with yogurt. I never felt more pampered!

It was as though my head was separated from my body, haha in a good way of course! I had my hair and face all dry, and my body the opposite. It was like feeling dry and wet at the same time, it was crazy!

2. Be pampered with Antara’s (must-try) Indo-China fusion massage techniques!

I have never experienced a combined massage techniques from Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, that is why I was so excited to try this one, plus they’re going to use ice packs and bamboo mini sticks. I was psyched to know how it would feel.

It first started with normal kneading and rubbing, until the ice packs were placed on areas that needed some change of temperature. It was too cold for my lower back but felt normal and reassuring on my shoulder blades. My masseuse said that these areas are the most exhausted, that is why it can withstand the external stimulus. My muscles knew they needed that comfort.

I was in disbelief when the bamboo mini sticks felt comforting. They tapped on my skin gently, and just gave the right amount of impact to my weary muscles. All these different sensations were crucial to creating a whole new relaxing experience! Trust me, level up from Swedish, and try an Indo-Chinese massage!

3. Avail a massage with your beau in a ‘Couple Room’ with no extra charge!

This was another shocker. I know most spa salons offer couple rooms for a minimum extra charge. But if you and your partner are practical, you’d probably just pick the usual cubicles and save a few extra bucks.

But I’ve always wanted to try these. It’s an awesome date idea! Plus you get to look at each other before you even doze off from the relaxing pressures and bodyworks!

I tell you with all sincerity in my heart, you have to go to Antara Wellness Spa, at least once a week, and create a weekly routine out of it! You and your body will thank you for it! Trust me!
