Wedding Gown for Rent + Giveaway

Hi merfriends! 😀

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! 😀

I have been very busy with Versaheel, and some speaking engagements, so I barely had time to blog. But goodie, I have now!

Two months ago, I uploaded my very first vlog, and it’s about my amazing collaboration with Gown for Rent.

Gown for Rent is a sustainable and eco-friendly gown and accessory rental shop located in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Founded by Roxy Roco in partnership with the CustomThread Inc., last 2012 after rebranding from that created custom gowns.

I actually knew about them when I was in search for a gown for last year’s Christmas Party. My then company will hold two parties on the same day, meaning, I have to change twice.

Of course, I don’t have the time to wait for a custom dress, let alone spend big amounts of money to wear one for only 4 hours, so I opted to look for gown rentals such as theirs.

Little did I know, my blog will soon be collaborating with them! I was actually in love with the Tala Gown when I saw it on their website. I envisioned that I will probably be wearing something like this when I finally walk down the aisle.

I love how simple it is! I was enamored by beads and mesh way back 2010, and I’m sure a lot of brides and bride-to-bes appreciate that sort of design.

Fast-forward to 7 years after, trends started to influence me more, so I’d rather wear more textured dresses than beaded ones.

No wonder, this is the first gown I chose to wear for the photoshoot! It was surreal! I felt like I was meeting a celebrity! Haha 😀 I only got to see it on the site, that is why shivers of glee took over when I finally got to wear it!

Since I finally had the time to post this awesome collab, I am throwing in something more!

Up to 75% off!

Bride-to-bes, maid of honors, bridesmaids and merfriends who would like to have this gown worn by their soon-to-be bride friends, this is your chance to slash a big amount of expense!

Rent this gown for FREE, yes you read that right, by joining my giveaway!

How My Shopaholic Tendencies Landed Me in the Shopee Birthday Bash and its Video Collaboration

I have a confession to make. I never thought I’d like this. I was just trying it for a little bit, you know, testing it for a little while. But then, little whiles became days, weeks, months, years – and there was nothing I could do to stop.

Forgive me please, but I am a shopping addict.

I remember visiting the nearby mall in our university back in college every after school. I used to sneak my shopping goodies inside my bedroom window first, before finally going inside the house’s main door.

I was afraid my Mom will scold me again. But I was terminal. :/ Haha

Too ill to heal. 😀

You see, looking back I never really regret shopping much. Wanting nicer things actually pushed me to go pursue a business, so I can afford the things I want.

Little did I know, these “shopaholic tendencies” would pave the way for some opportunities, aside from Versaheel.

Last night, I went to the Shopee’s Birthday Bash!

(Ms Kathy Kenny Ngo,  Katsy Faustino and Me)

It was wonderful, and even though it took me forever to arrive because damn, the traffic was treacherous; I was still able to come in one piece.

Ibiza Beach Club was stupendous! I have seen one that’s similar in Cebu, and it is such a genius to have something like that here in Manila!

The place was in an all-white-theme, and that spells the extra class of the venue! We were situated in arc sofas and the little platforms served as pathways. The water in the little pools on the sides made everything more magical!

I am really grateful for being part of this year’s Shopee’s anniversary party. Not only did I meet new people, I was also given the chance to participate in its video collaboration with Manila Mash.

We had the shoot in Café Libertad in Amorsolo, Makati. You’ve got to visit them! They have the most flavorful sandwiches in Makati, I tell you!

In here we talked about how convenient shopping became because of this app. I never have to go out just to canvass and buy something. Looking for a product became a lot easier through Shoppee!

You can watch the full video here, as produced by Manila Mash in collaboration with Shoppee!

It also helps me market Versaheel more. I can say that Shopee’s features come in real handy for entrepreneurs like me, because it allows us to have a medium to sell our products and get searched in the most suitable and convincing way!

Plus, the Shopee Guarantee makes it more genuine and safer, because the app becomes your gateway in buying online. And a seller will only collect the payment, once you, the buyer receives the product.

Trust issues are even addressed directly!

Be careful, please do this in moderation! Addictive tendencies have been reported! 🙂

A Printed Gown on a Formal Event – Why Not?

In choosing clothes for special occasions, it may be a tad difficult to pick something beautiful that is not expensive, let alone something that you can use again. This is my dilemma when I knew I had to have two gowns for a back-to-back Christmas party in one day.

Actually, I can opt to wear a single ensemble the whole day and just revamp it with some accessories on the second event. But no! The too maarte girl in me insists that I shall wear TWO, and no one can stop me from doing so.

I tried searching in my closet for gowns I have used in the past. One was the bridesmaid dress I wore in a wedding, and I was considering the other gowns I used at prom and in a pageant. Yes, my prom dress still fits me to this very day! Haha :)) Considering that it has been twelve years ago! Oooh. Time doesn’t fly, it apparates!

Anyway, much to my luck, I found this!

This gorgeous dress is from Macy’s, and it has been in our possession for more than 3 years. And we never wore it! Not even once! Ever! When I say, “we”, I mean me, my sister, and Mom. We basically share the same dress and shoe size, so it’s like having two other mes. It’s crazy!

The reason why, is because it came in size Large, so naturally we can’t dance our way inside it. Since the prints are too magical to just be confined in the darkness of our cabinets, I had it adjusted in one of the seamstresses in the city. I was shocked because I only spent P200! That’s like more than 90% off from the budget I was alotting in buying a new gown! Thank heavens for unexplored closet corners! Haha 😀

I added a mini gold leafy diadem to accentuate the gold details of the gown, not to mention as an additonal mark to achieve that Greek goddess look too! 🙂

I believe the gown is not very conforming to the strict idea of formal wear. The material isn’t silk, lace, or anything usual that depicts the formal wear ideals. However, I want to make the night extra fun  by not trying to look like everyone else. That is why this printed gown is just perfect! I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised seeing someone wear the exact same dress.

I adore its back detail, and how elegant the V shape is. It reminds me of flirty and elegant fashion. Plus of course the whole gown just screams a modern and classy take on formal dresses. So I think there is no fear when you try to wear unconventional clothes, as long as you can carry them well, with your head held high of course.

After all, you give meaning to the outfit you wear, and not the other way around.

What do you think of this merfriends? 🙂

25 Celebrities in Empire East Lip-Sync Battle

How in the world can you get 25 celebrities to perform in one big event? Wonder no more, for Empire East has got you covered!

Last December 13, Tuesday – all roads lead to Crossroads 77!

Every year, the Empire East Marketing Team prepares for the in-house salespeople’s Christmas party, but this year we were privileged to set-up for the employees’ as well. Although this year is a bit different, especially for me, since I wasn’t  physically present for most of the whirling zap and zing of the event planning. I took a leave for the last two weeks to take care of some family matters. Nevertheless, the celebration all seemed perfectly carried out.

Up until now, I am still in awe on how we managed to prepare two amazing parties in one day! I must say I am truly ecstatic, and humbled to be part of a team who never fails to create wonders and leave a delightful nostalgia, long after the events are over!

In my recent post, I shared what I wore, and it is salubrious to witness all the people you see at work, all glammed up for the occasion. It was surreal to see the familiar faces look so gorgeously stunning in their ball gowns and tuxedos. It was like our own version of Star Magic Ball!

My friends and fellow trainers were the hosts for the 18-hour long party!

We started with AURA: Radiant. Unique. Euphoric – A Christmas Party for Sales.

The energy just got higher when our salespeople started their lip-sync battle performances!

Justin Bieber

Meghan Trainor

Miley Cyrus

Nicki Minaj

Katy Perry

Jennifer Lopez

They were all super creative and talented! Imagine of only coming up with these in less than 7 days of preparation! I have deduced, a long time ago, that you must never underestimate the capacity of salespeople! They will always have something unique and great to show, and these are probably things you can’t even imagine possible!

I was assigned with the tallying of the scores and computation of results, and boy, did my head ache! The fight was toooooo close! I didn’t even know who’ll win! But Usher reigned supreme!

Usher – Over All Champion

Rihanna – 1st placedamascus1

Meghan Trainor – League of Damascus

Special awards! They were all so glamorous that night!

We ended around 4pm, that means we only have exactly 1 hour to prepare for the next party! OMG.

After one breath of relief, we took another gasp as we take on the next kerfuffle! (I really like this word I learned from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) And who says we’re not ready?
